Sara Evans Sued by Former Nanny Tue. April 10.2007 6:03 PM EDT Sara Evans and her attorneys have been named in a defamation suit filed by her former nanny. Alison Clinton Lee says she was slandered and libeled in court documents Evans and her legal team filed in October 2006 in connection with the singer's divorce from husband Craig Schelske. In the divorce suit, Evans claimed Lee had an affair with Schelske. Lee, who is seeking $3 million in punitive and compensatory damages, denies having the affair and has asked Evans to make a public retraction of the allegations.
Kristofferson Tribute Planned for CMT Music Awards Tue. Willie Nelson, Keith Urban and Gretchen Wilson, as well as members of the film community such as Russell Crowe, Martin Scorcese and Luke Wilson, will honor Kristofferson as he accepts the Johnny Cash Visionary Award. In related news, Big & Rich, Randy Owen, Blake Shelton and Ross "the Intern" Mathews (The Tonight Show With Jay Leno) have been added to the presenter lineup. Tim McGraw, Faith Hill Slated for Live Earth Concert Tue. April 10.2007 6:03 PM EDT Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been announced as performers at the Live Earth concert at Giants Stadium near New York City on July 7. The idea of former Vice President Al Gore, the all-day event will raise awareness about the negative effects of global warming. Other artists on the bill include Jon Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, AFI, Akon, Melissa Etheridge, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, the Police, Rihanna, K T Tunstall, Roger Waters and Kanye West. Additional concerts have been scheduled around the world, including shows in Shanghai, Sydney, Johannesburg, London, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Antarctica. Dierks Bentley Tapes Austin City Limits Tue. April 10.2007 6:03 PM EDT Dierks Bentley will make his first appearance on Austin City Limits in an episode to be taped April 25 in Austin, Texas. It will air later this fall during the PBS series' 33rd season. "It is amazing to look at the list of singer-songwriters who have been asked to play Austin City Limits -- people like Rodney Crowell, John Prine and Emmylou Harris," he said. "It is definitely an honor to be invited to Austin for this." Bentley will perform his current single, "Long Trip Alone," during the CMT Music Awards in Nashville on Monday (April 16).
