When I went to the Georgia Academy for the blind, the food wasn't the best
either except on the weekends. I wasn't good when I went to public school
either.

In college it has been a little better, but ...

Now, that's an excellent idea! I know our school for the blind's food was
disgustingly bad!

    Hi
when I was hospitalized all the food was catered by the Marriot Hotels, so
the food was good.

      Hi, Marilyn,

I never heard of that! The hospital food is cooked where? then brought to
the various hospitals; people have told me hospital coffee is awful, did not
hear complaints regarding the gravy served there; one time, when my dad was
hospitalized, the beef was as tough as shoe leather! Mom asked the nurse how
anyone was expected to eat the stuff, since she was griping that he was not
eating much, and what foods did he really enjoy? we said all pasta products,
and he loved mac and cheese; guess they could butcher pasta, too and overcook
it till it tasted like library paste or glue! Yuck! that's why I hate
institutional cooking so much, 'cause I had to eat the crap when attending the
school for the blind.

Re: eating six small meals a day: you could fix say, 2 different meals,
and vary the portions, like, first do breakfast, then a small portion of one
meal, then later, a small amount of the 2nd choice, and so on; how about soup
and grilled cheese; one time, yogurt and a small (half) sandwich)?

Or scrambled egg and toast; some of his faves from the Italian or grocery
deli to vary sandwiches? can he have pizza? order in one and get 2 medium, or
large, different types, and he can heat it and snack off that.

        Hi Kay,

The worst is over in my opinion. I think he'll be going to the Arthur
James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio for any chemotherapy. He is doing well,
though. He was glad to get a real cup of coffee he said and some real food.

When you got off the elevator at the hospital, you could smell that
artificial gravy stuff. I wonder what makes it smell so bad? You can only fix
chicken so many ways. I think in the U.S. now, most of the hospital foods are
prepared and then sent to the hospitals. They don't even cook on site anymore.

Thanks, Kay, for your support. I'm so thankful for my friends.

Frank is to have six small meals a day. Do you have any ideas?
