Tropical Spice Cake
2-1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp allspice
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
Heat oven to dg350. Grease and flour 2 nine inch layer pans. Sift
together dry ingredients into a bowl. Add brown sugar, shortening,
eggs and buttermilk. Beat two minutes scraping sides of bowl
constantly. Pour into pans and bake 35-40 minutes.
