Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Drops

1 c. quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter (1 stick), softened
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 6-oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 c. walnuts, finely chopped

        Preheat oven to dg350. Grease large cookie sheet.

        Place oats in food processor or blender with knife-blade attached and
pulse until finely ground. Transfer oats to medium bowl. Stir in
flour, baking soda and cinnamon.

        In small bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat sugar with butter
until creamy. At low speed beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture
and beat just until blended occasionally scraping bowl with rubber
spatula. With spoon, stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

        Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 1-inch apart onto cookie sheet. Bake
cookies 12-14 minutes until lightly browned around the edges. Transfer
cookies to wire rack to cool completely. Repeat with remaining dough.
Store in tightly covered container up to one week. Makes about 6-1/2
dozen cookies 50 calories.
