Angel Biscuits

 

5 cups flour

2/3 cup shortening (crisco or mazola oil)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons baking powder

4 tablespoons sugar

2 packages of yeast dissolved in small amount of warm

water.

2 cups buttermilk

Sift together dry ingredients in a large bowl.  Add

buttermilk, shortening and yeast. mix well.  Cover and

store in refrigerator 3 hours.  Can be rolled and cut,

or used as drop biscuits.  It is not necessary to let

rise.  Bake in preheated oven 425 to 450 degrees.

Will keep indefinitely in refrigerator, or can be used

immediately after making.
