Why go to MacDonalds when you can make your own egg mcmuffins at home. It 
takes only minutes when done in the microwave and it tastes even better. You 
can even make it really low fat by using egg whites instead of the whole 
egg, and reduced calorie cheese instead of the full fat type. It is a 
popular breakfast at my place when something fast is required, but you don't 
feel like cold cereal and toast. Jazz it up by using a variation in english 
muffins. They come in whole wheat, multigrain, and cinnamon raisin.

  Two make one mcmuffin you need

1 english muffin (your favorite) toasted
(margarine or butter is strictly optional)
1 large egg
( break the egg into a microwave dish and cook until set about a minute or 
two) Breaking the egg in the dish will cause it not to sputter so much.
1 slice of cooked ham
(warm it up a few seconds in the microwave) or
2 slices of bacon
(cook your own or
use the precooked type)
You can cook bacon in the microwave or in the oven instead of frying it.
These two ways allow the fat to drain off when you use a microwave rack in 
the microwave or oven rack and cookie sheet in the oven 400 degrees for 15 
minutes.
  1 slice kraft light chedder cheese or your favorite sliced cheese.
You can even use mozzarella

Assemble the Mcmuffin by
adding the ham or bacon to one side of the english muffin,
add egg (it will lift right out of the little bowl where it was cooking
in a neat flat little disk size),
add cheese and the top of the english muffin.

  Voila egg mcmuffin.
It will take a few more minutes if you wish to use round flat sausage
instead of ham or bacon
because you have to cook the sausage first or
you can use precooked sausage warmed up.
Serve with hot brewed coffee, juice or
a bowl of fruit salad  and a yogurt.
