DOUBLE FUDGE CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES  

  1 c. butter
  4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
  2 c. sugar
  1 1/2 c. flour
  4 eggs, slightly beaten
  1 tsp. baking powder
  1 tsp. salt
  2 tsp. vanilla
  1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In 2 quart saucepan combine 1 cup
butter and unsweetened chocolate. Cook over medium heat,
stirring occasionally, until melted (4-6 minutes). Stir in
remaining ingredients, except chocolate chips. Fold in
chocolate chips. Spread half of batter into greased 9 x 13
inch pan. In a small bowl combine the filling.


FILLING:

  1/4 c. sugar
  2 tsp. butter, softened
  3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  1 egg
  1 tbsp. flour
  1/2 tsp. vanilla

Spread filling over brownie mixture. Spoon remaining batter
over cream cheese. (Batter will not entirely cover cream
cheese mixture.) Bake 30-35 minutes or until brownies pull
away from sides of pan.
