Saucey Bars
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Cream butter and sugar. Add applesauce and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg
and add to applesauce mixture; mix well. Stir in raisins and nuts.
Spread into greased 13- by 9-inch baking pan. Bake at dg350 35-40
minutes. Frost while warm.
Yield 24 bars.
Frosting
1/4 c. melted butter
1/4 c. cream
1-3/4 c. Confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Beat alll ingredients together
Note: Cream cheese frosting would also work well.
