Bucket Pickles

Yield: 1 
Ingredients: 
          4    cup  white sugar 
          2    cup  white vinegar 
          2    tbl  coarse pickling salt 
          1    tsp  turmeric 
          1    tsp  celery seed 
          1    tsp  mustard seed 
          1    lrg  red pepper seeded, sliced 
          1    lrg  green pepper seeded, sliced 
          1    lrg  Spanish onion cut into slices 
          5      x  cucumbers with peel thinly sliced 
Method:
This is a fantastic easy to make pickle.
Measure first 6 ingredients in a 4 quart ice cream bucket. Stir.
Add red pepper, green pepper and onion. Add more or less cucumber,
depending on size, to fill bucket up to level of liquid. Let stand for
about 2 hours. Stir. It will shrink down a bit so you may be able to add
a few more cucumber slices. Cover. Store in the refrigerator for up to 6
months.
Makes about 2 1/2 quarts.
