CHOCOLATE CHIP BLONDIES

2 pkgs. (7.4 oz ea.) chocolate chip muffin mix
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
6 tbsp. butter, melted and cooled
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Heat oven to 350. (325 for dark, nonstick pan) Grease bottom of 8-inch square 
baking pan. In large bowl, combine muffin mix and brown sugar; stir to blend
evenly. Add butter, egg, and vanilla; stir until well blended. Stir in pecans. 
Spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick
inserted in center comes out clean. Cool; cut into bars.  Enjoy.
