Taylor Swift Combats Internet Crimes Against Kids

Taylor Swift and Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen have joined the Tennessee 
Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) to launch Delete Online Predators, a new
statewide public education campaign that will fight Internet crime against 
children. The campaign will distribute Internet safety information and materials
to parents and middle school students in Tennessee. "Chatting with friends and 
surfing the Internet is cool. But it's important to stay safe. Be smart
about keeping your identity private online," Swift said.

Reba Duets Among New Releases

Reba McEntire released Reba Duets on Tuesday (Sept. 18) on MCA Nashville. 
Musical partners include Kelly Clarkson on the hit single, "Because of You."
McEntire was recently named Woman of the Year by Billboard magazine. ... Other 
new releases include Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time's Took Down and
Put Up (Lonesome Day), Mary Gauthier's Between Daylight and Dark (Lost 
Highway), Emmylou Harris' Songbird (Rhino), Jim Lauderdale's The Bluegrass 
Diaries
(Yep Roc) and Carolyn Mark's Nothing Is Free (Mint).

Joe Nichols, Sara Evans Get Platinum Certifications

Albums by Joe Nichols and Sara Evans have achieved platinum status for 
shipments of 1 million copies each, the RIAA announced Tuesday (Sept. 18). 
Nichols'
Man With a Memory, released in 2002, is his first recording to reach the 
platinum level. Evans' 2005 release, Real Fine Place, is her third platinum 
album.
In other certifications, Big & Rich's Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace 
and Bon Jovi's Lost Highway are now certified gold for shipments of 500,000
copies.

Dualtone Founders Sell Company to Partner

Dualtone Music Group founders Dan Herrington and Scott Robinson have sold their 
shares of the record label to partner Cal Turner III, who also operates
the Cal IV Entertainment music publishing company in Nashville. Established in 
2001, Dualtone has released albums by Guy Clark, June Carter Cash, Bobby
Bare, Charlie Robison, Radney Foster, BR549, David Ball and others. As part of 
the company's restructuring, Robinson will remain in his current position
as president and Herrington will leave the company. Both will retain a minority 
profit interest in Dualtone.
