Hi Alberta:

Reading your post made me remember when I first met Korema and the
insane amount of energy she exuded. Fifteen minutes prior to this
meeting, I had said goodbye to a lovely black Lab whose temperment I
adored but who could not hold the pace and pull I need in a guide.

Sitting in my room and feeling as though I was the worst dog handler
on the planet, I glumly waited for Pete Lang to bring (and I quote)
"the dog who definitely has what you need.)

I started at the sound of a knock. When I opened the door, I was
greeted by a racket of claws and the excited panting of a dog.
"This is Stella," Mr. Lang introduced, taking my leash and clipping
it to her collar.

Stella introduced herself by giving my arm and wrist a thorough
chew, flopping on the floor for a tummy rub--uhh, which didn't last
very long--, chewing on her leash, leaping to her feet and
half-succeeded in yanking the covers off my bed, while her tail wagged
furiously.

"I'll leave you two to make friends," Mr. Lang intoned with amusement.
"We'll go for a walk in about thirty minutes."

My heart sank as this goofy dynamo continued her silly antics. Did
the school really expect me to entrust my life to this tornado?

In the end, Korema/Stella proved to be a stellar guide. She plays
with her dog friends with vigor and she particularly loves taking as
many bones away from her playmates as possible.

Glad you're home safely. Happy adjusting to both teams!

       Khanh with Korema
