A co-worker of my mom's gave her that recipe many years ago and she began making them for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Shortly before her death in 1996 she showed me how to do it and watched me as she walked me through the process taking pains to show me how to butter the tops. My son wasn't quite so fortunate and as I said before his first ones resembled Hockey pucks. Each year they get a bit better and my sister-in-law has come close. This Christmas it will be my turn. I sure hope I get it right the first time. I have made them for other gatherings and so far they have turned out great. Keep your fingers crossed. Any tips you have will be greatly appreciated.
