Brooks & Dunn, Faith Hill Release New CDs

Brooks & Dunn and Faith Hill both released new albums on Tuesday (Oct. 2). 
Brooks & Dunn's Cowboy Town (Arista) includes their latest hit, "Proud of the
House We Built." Hill's The Hits (Warner Bros. Nashville) begins with her 
current single, "Red Umbrella." ... Other new releases include Ryan Bingham's
Mescalito (Lost Highway), J.J. Cale's Rewind: Unreleased Recordings (Time 
Life), Cross Canadian Ragweed's Mission California (Universal South), John 
Fogerty's
Revival (Fantasy) and Merle Haggard's The Bluegrass Sessions (McCoury Music). 
New compilation albums include Songs 4 Worship: Country (Time Life) and Hear
Something Country Christmas (Sony BMG).

George Strait Announces 2008 Tour

George Strait will return to the road in early 2008 for a series of arena 
concerts. The 19-city tour begins Jan. 10 in Austin, Texas, with dates currently
scheduled through March 7 in Lubbock, Texas. Additional concerts are expected 
to be announced soon. Little Big Town will open the shows. Little Big Town's
Kimberly Roads says, "We have been so fortunate over the past couple of years 
to tour with some amazing artists. But to be invited to share the stage with
an entertainer like George Strait -- who never fails to give fans what they 
want year after year, show after show and hit after hit -- is truly an honor.
He has the career we all strive for."

CMA Broadcast Winners Revealed

The winners in the broadcast division of this year's CMA Awards were announced 
Monday (Oct. 1). The broadcast personalities of the year are: Lia Knight,
The Lia Show, Jones Radio Networks (national); Chris Carr, KEEY/Minneapolis-St. 
Paul, Minn. (major market); Jim Denny, Kevin Freeman and Deborah Honeycut,
WFMS/Indianapolis (large market); Dan Tooker, Jon Watkins and Colby Ericson, 
formerly on KFDI/Wichita, Kan. (medium market); and Gator Harrison and Greg
"StyckMan" Owens, WGSQ/Cookeville, Tenn. (small market). CMA radio stations of 
the year are: KYGO/Denver (major market); WMIL, Milwaukee (large market);
KXKT/Omaha, Neb. (medium market); and WKXC/Augusta, Ga. (small market).

Neal McCoy Charity Event Raises $500,000

Neal McCoy's 13th annual fundraiser for his East Texas Angel Network raised 
more than $500,000. The event took place Friday and Saturday (Sept. 28-29)
in his hometown of Longview, Texas, and included a golf tournament and concert 
featuring McCoy, Jamie O'Neal, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and TV 
personality
Jack Hanna. McCoy and his wife, Melinda, established the charity to enhance the 
lives of families whose children suffer from a serious or life-threatening
illness.
