CHOCOLATE CHIP LOAF CAKE 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. soda 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. milk 3 eggs 1/2 c. chocolate chips, finely chopped 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Measure flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking powder, salt, soda, shortening, and milk in a bowl. Add eggs, chocolate chips, and vanilla. Beat 1/2 minute at low speed. Beat at high speed for 3 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool cake about 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Frost cake with your favorite frosting.
