SOUR CREAM BROWN BUTTER COOKIES

2 1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
8 oz. sour cream
FROSTING:
1/2 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
2-3 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.
In a 3 quart mixer bowl combine all cookie ingredients except sour cream
and pecans. Beat at low speed 2-3 minutes cleaning sides of bowl often
until well mixed. Stir in sour cream and pecans.
Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8-12
minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool and spread with Brown
Butter Frosting.
Frosting; In saucepan melt butter over medium heat, stirring constantly
until butter is golden brown (3-5 minutes). Add remaining ingredients
and stir until smooth. Yield: Approximately 5 dozen.
