Onion-Cheese Supper Bread

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 Tbsp. bacon fat
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups pkgd. biscuit mix (I use Bisquick)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 Tbsp. poppy or sesame seeds
2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine

Cook onion in fat till tender and light brown. Combine egg and milk; add to
biscuit mix and stir just until moistened. Add onion and half of cheese.
Spread dough in greased 8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese
and seeds; drizzle melted butter over all. Bake in 400° oven for 20-25
minutes. Serve hot.
