Sara Evans Announces Tour With Josh Turner

Sara Evans will begin a new tour on Oct. 19 in Fort Wayne, Ind., with opening 
acts Josh Turner and Luke Bryan on select dates and George Ducas ("Lipstick
Promises") on others. Sponsored by Chevrolet, the 10-city tour will conclude 
Nov. 17 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Evans released her Greatest Hits on Oct. 9.
Turner's new CD, Everything Is Fine, will be released on Oct. 30.

John Rich Leads New CMT Series, Gone Country

John Rich of Big & Rich will give one of seven celebrities a chance at a 
country music career in the new CMT series, Gone Country. The cast includes 
Bobby
Brown (New Edition), Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips), Dee Snider (Twisted 
Sister), Diana DeGarmo (American Idol), Julio Iglesias Jr., Maureen McCormick
(The Brady Bunch) and Sisqo ("Thong Song"). The celebrities will live in a 
Nashville mansion together and will compose songs with Nashville songwriters.
In each episode, the cast will compete against each other in challenges that 
will test them musically and physically to adapt to a country music lifestyle,
both on and off the stage. At the end of two weeks, the artist who is most 
prepared to impress a country audience, as determined by Rich, will record and
release a song. Production is currently underway in Nashville. The six-episode 
series will premiere in January 2008.

Porter Wagoner Being Honored at Americana Conference

Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale will pay tribute to Country 
Music Hall of Fame member Porter Wagoner during an Oct. 31 party opening the
Americana Music Association's seventh annual festival and conference in 
Nashville. The performance at the Tennessee State Museum is expected to include
several surprise guests. The conference will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 3 at the 
Nashville Convention Center and includes the Americana Awards and Honors
show on Nov. 1 at the Ryman Auditorium. WSMV-TV in Nashville reported Thursday 
(Oct. 18) that Wagoner has been admitted to a Nashville-area hospital for
treatment of an undisclosed illness. The 80-year-old entertainer was seriously 
ill in 2006 after suffering a stomach aneurysm. He released a new album,
Wagonmaster, earlier this year.

Country Artists Arrive for Dinosaurs in Nashville

Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry, Keech Rainwater and Michael Britt of Lonestar 
and Bryan White brought their families to the opening night of Walking
With Dinosaurs at the Sommet Center in Nashville on Wednesday night (Oct. 17). 
The $20 million production, inspired by a BBC TV series and featuring enormous,
lifelike creatures, will end its Nashville run on Sunday (Oct. 20), followed by 
a series of shows in Dallas starting Oct. 25.
