Chocolate Applesauce Cake
1 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Shortening
1 3/4 c. Applesauce
2 c. Flour
2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Cloves
1/4 tsp. Allspice
3 tbsp. Cocoa
1 tbsp. Cornstarch
1 c. Raisins
1/2 c. Nuts, chopped
Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed shortening and sugar, alternatively
With applesauce. Sift cornstarch over nuts and raisins; add to batter.
Bake at
350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done, in a 13 x 9 inch pan.
