Kay, you know only too well, it doesn't matter how old, especially a parent
is at the time of their passing or how hold you are at that time, the world
will be a bit emptier than it was. It is so amazing when an individual does
live as long as she did. It would have been something if she had reached 94.
I have an aunt who has a birthday on Christmas and she's about your mom's
age, I think she'll be, come to think of it 92 on Christmas day. That's one
of my dad's 2 sisters. My dad passed away at 78 years old a little over 2
years ago in 2005, and I was a month away from turning 51. Even though I was
50, there was a little girl inside of me that didn't want her daddy gone and
longed for him, and I still do, and I always will, oh very much so when
you've had sweet nurturing parents. Even if you're in your 50's or 60's when
your parent passes away. So you'll always miss her, just hold onto all those
memmories, and remember all that you've learned from her, including what you
learned from her approach in life in her last years. Some of those life's
lessons from our parents in their last years of life and how they cope with
their conditions and illness and their approach in continuing to live, is
worth so very much. My dad really never complained and did what he needed to
do, and in attitude was pretty easy going, even through is 2 year illness of
lung cancer, and after a year spreading to the brain. I'm sure deep down
inside even mentally, it must have been a tough road to travel, but on the
outside, that was pretty much is personality about him through his whole
life, very easy going personality and didn't worry about a lot of things, at
least he didn't talk about worries all the time as some individuals do, but
he was a very nurturing individual to everyone in his life, and my brother,
sister and I couldn't have ever had a better dad. So take and learn from
you're sweet little general. God Bless you, Kay, as you continue to be in my
prayers as it won't be easy period, but especially at this time of year.
Prayers for lots of places to find confort, including through family
members, friends, and all those treasured memmories.

hugs,
Arlene

Subject: [RecipesAndMore] thank you

Thanks so very much for the kind words of sympathy at the death of my mom.
Especially over the past 5-6 years she required a great deal of Bill's and
my time which of course we were more than happy to give, but which will now
leave a huge hole in my life. She would have been 94 on Dec. 21 which is a
milestone to achieve with all faculties in tact as she had. My "little
general" will be so very
much missed!
