Silk Flower Pillows
If you'd like to create the perfect gift for a special lady, consider these silk flower pillows. Materials: New or used throw pillows Nine silk roses Glue gun Fabric glue Straight pins Soft ruler Scissors Note: It is more expensive to buy silk flowers by the stem, so buy them in a bunch and then cut them apart. 1. Remove tags from pillows. Find where the pillow is stitched together. This is the bottom of the pillow and you need to turn it around so the bottom is facing you when you are working on the pillow. 2. Find center of pillow by measuring from side to side at the seams figure A) of both sides of the pillow and mark the center with a straight pin. 3. Lay out design of silk flowers and then place straight pins where the flowers will go. 4. Holding the flower firmly in one hand, cut it real short from the stem right at the base of the pad (figure B), and do not let go of the flower. 5. Still holding the flower, slip the green back piece off and then apply a liberal amount of fabric glue to back of flower at the stem (figure C) making sure to get the glue on the stem as well as the flower. 6. Remove pin and apply flower to pillow (figure D) and then firmly push it down and hold for 10-12 seconds. This will allow the flower petals to stay nice and tight when the pillow springs back up. 7 Repeat for remaining flowers in your design. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
