OATMEAL COOKIES MIX 2 c. sugar 2 c. packed brown sugar 3 c. self-rising flour, sifted 2 c. shortening 6 c. oatmeal
Sift dry ingredients together except oatmeal. Cut in shortening. Mix in oatmeal. Store in cool dry place until ready to use. OATMEAL COOKIES: Combine: 2 c. cookie mix 1 egg 1 tbsp. vanilla 1/2 c. nuts Chocolate chips, coconut, etc. (optional) Mix well. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
