Rascal Flatts Receive Nashville Symphony Honor

Rascal Flatts -- Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney -- were presented 
the Nashville Symphony's Harmony Award during the organization's annual
ball on Saturday night (Dec. 8). The award is presented to individuals who have 
demonstrated continued support of Nashville's musical culture. Previous
recipients include Chet Atkins, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Emmylou 
Harris, Trisha Yearwood and Lyle Lovett. After being presented the award,
Rascal Flatts performed "My Wish" and "Bless the Broken Road" during the formal 
event at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Darryl Worley, Keni Thomas Head to Persian Gulf

Darryl Worley and Keni Thomas were scheduled to leave Monday (Dec. 10) for a 
14-day USO tour of the Persian Gulf. The tour, which includes shows for U.S.
troops stationed in three nations, will also feature sports commentator Leeann 
Tweeden, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and comics Vince Morris and Sheryl
Underwood. It marks Thomas' third consecutive year to participate in the USO's 
Hope & Freedom holiday tour.

Actor John C. Reilly Promotes Walk Hard in Nashville

Actor John C. Reilly performed a Saturday night (Dec. 8) concert at Nashville's 
Mercy Lounge after screening his new film, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,
at a local theater. Reilly stars and sings in the film which parodies several 
music biopics, including Walk the Line. At the screening, Reilly greeted
the audience and invited them to the concert featuring his band, the Hard 
Walkers. He and the musicians have embarked on their Cox Across America 2007
tour to promote the film that opens nationally in theaters on Dec. 21. At 
Saturday's show, Reilly remained in character throughout the two-hour concert.
Singer-songwriter Holly Williams, Hank Williams Jr.'s daughter, made a surprise 
appearance and joined Reilly onstage for the song, "Let's Duet." Reilly's
film credits include Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Chicago and 
The Aviator.

Steve Earle Announces 2008 Tour

Steve Earle will be touring in Europe and North America to support his latest 
album, Washington Square Serenade, which has spawned two Grammy nominations.
Singer-songwriter Allison Moorer, Earle's wife, will also perform on the tour 
that includes shows in January and February in the U.K., the Netherlands,
France, Germany and Spain. The dates in the U.S. and Canada begin Feb. 28 in 
Northampton, Mass., and are scheduled to run through a March 25 performance
in Los Angeles. Washington Square Serenade received a Grammy nomination for 
best contemporary folk/Americana album. Earle and Moorer are also nominated
in the category of best country collaboration with vocals for "Days Aren't Long 
Enough," a track from the album. Earle is currently producing Joan Baez's
new album at a Nashville studio.
