Love Bugs Makes: 6, 2 servings each Time: 1 hr 3 Tbsp stick margarine 1 bag (10 to 10 1/2 oz) marshmallows 6 cups toasted rice cereal Eyes: 12 crystal-coated red gummy Lifesaver candies and 12 small white heart-shaped candies Noses: 6 small pink and/or red heart-shaped candies Spots: 30 small red and/or pink heart-shaped candies Antennae: Twelve 3-in. pieces red licorice lace Legs: Thirty-six 1-in. pieces red licorice lace Mouths: Six 2-in. pieces red licorice lace Planning Tip: Can be made through Step 2 up to 1 week ahead. Store with waxed paper between layers in a tightly covered container at room temperature. 1. Melt margarine in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows; stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in cereal until well coated. Cool 5 minutes. 2. One at a time, scoop 6 heaping 1-cup measures cereal mixture, packing each tightly. Immediately turn out on work surface; form each into a rounded mound. Let stand at least 30 minutes until firm. 3. Press on eyes, noses and spots. Stick antennae, legs and mouths into place, poking holes with a toothpick if licorice lace doesn*t go in easily. Cut in half to serve.
