Marilyn, all of us do care, and are praying, and know this new rehab center can do wonders for him. Once he gets to feeling a lot better, prayerfully, his appetite will pick up; those milk shakes are nutrient packed with the Ensure, and all that good fruit, and really should help him to gain strength; hope the scan evaluation goes well. Wednesday, Frank was transferred by ambulance to the Marietta Memorial Hospital on Matthew Street. They have a wonder Rehabilitation Center there on the 2nd floor. Yesterday, they were pleased with the physical aspects of his abilities. Still, the biggest problem is his eating. Today or Monday, they are going to do a swallow evaluation. They put this thickener stuff in his pureed food because he could swallow something and it could go to his lungs and not his stomach. Last night, he only ate 4 bites of food for dinner. When I left, I told them he liked milkshakes with fruit in them, so they were going to use chocolate ice cream, whole milk, strawberries, bananas, and some ensure. They were going to see if he would drink any of that. He is confused because he still has a little liquid on his brain, but it is not blood. His neurologist thinks that this is causing most of the confusion. The only meds he is on is a seizure med, his cholesterol, and Metamucil.
