Down the Drain
To freshen drains and help keep them free-flowing, mix 1/2 cup baking soda
with 1/4 cup table salt. Pour the mixture down the drain, followed by 1 cup
heated
vinegar.

Wipe Out Dust
To quick-clean your bookshelves, use a microfiber cloth or a clean paint or
makeup brush to dust the tops and sides of the books and then the shelves.

Say Curtains to Dirt
If you have time or are inclined to take your drapes down, launder or have
them cleaned according to the care label. For a quick fix, use the
upholstery
attachment of the vacuum cleaner because it does wonders not only to brush
away the dust, but also to remove and contain it.

Shine a Light on Grime
To clean your light switches and wall plates, spray the cleaner directly on
a cloth (not on the plate). Wipe to remove gummy, sticky fingerprints. Buff
to dry.

Don't Get Blindsided
When cleaning miniblinds, their material - metal, wood, or fabric - will
determine how you dust them.

All Systems Go!
Here's how to maintain your furnace and air conditioning system.

Clear the Air
When ceiling fans collect dust, they can scatter it around the room. You'll
need a stepladder to wipe them down, unless you can reach the fixtures
easily.
Use a damp paper towel first to carefully and slowly wipe off that heavy
layer of dust and grime.

Quick-Clean Your Computer
Unplug your computer equipment. With the brush attachment, first vacuum off
as much dust as you can, particularly paying attention to the back of the
machine,
where the air vents and that tangle of cords are. Then turn your keyboard
upside down, shake it, and be prepared for what falls out!

Sink Strategies
Today's mission: to clean underneath the bathroom sink. First put down
several large, heavy bath towels to protect the floor. Take everything out
and sort
out all items.
