Fetschapatze (Fat Sparrows) 
1 egg, beaten
a little salt
1 cup sour cream or sour milk
1 rounded tsp. baking soda
flour to make a stiffish batter 
Mix up and drop TBS. of batter into lard or shortening that is hot
enough to brown a bread cube (375*F) Drain on brown paper. 
Dunk in Maple Syrup to eat
