Oven Beef Stew - 5 hour stew
Serves 4 This is for a single batch, adjust accordingly for larger roaster. We usually double everything. Except the tapioca. 2 pounds stewing beef, or whatever you wish to use 5 carrots 4 large potatoes 1/2 cup celery 1/2 green pepper 1 medium onion any vegetable that will take roasting etc. Fill a large roasting pan for a family of 5, with 3 large eaters. Mix together in a small bowl the following, 1 can beef broth, salt, pepper, 8 oz tomato sauce, 3 T. tapioca. Pour meat and vegetables in roaster. Mix well. Cover & bake in 350 degree oven for 5 hours. Do not peek or stir. Do not open oven door. Double recipe except for carrots for large families.
