FOURTH OF JULY DESSERT

1 prebaked or frozen pound cake
1/3 c. cream sherry or more
1 recipe Rich Custard filling, divided in thirds
1 pkg. sliced almonds
1 pt. sliced fresh or frozen strawberries
1 pt. fresh or frozen blueberries
2 or 3 bananas, sliced
Cool Whip or whipped cream for top
Use a large clear glass bowl to show layers. Thinly slice pound cake.
Put a layer of cake in bottom of bowl, sprinkle some cream sherry over
cake. Add blueberries make sure berries show through the sides of bowl.
Pour 1/3 of custard filling over blueberries, sprinkle with sliced
almonds. Next layer cake, sherry, sliced bananas, make sure fruit shows
through bowl; 1/3 custard, sliced almonds. Third layer, cake, sherry,
strawberries, almonds and custard. Chill 2 hours. Serve with Cool Whip
on top with sliced almonds.
