Subject: [RecipesAndMore] Yesterdays events
Weds. evening, I got a call from work telling me we were to be in Des
Moines at 7:30am yesterday morning (45 mins. south from me) for an all day
Seminar For Special Needs children. It covered a lot of differerent issues with
children I haul on my bus. Most of the stuff they talked about I already deal
with on a daily basis. Some was interesting, the speakers were really good.They
came here from Tulsa, OK The seminar was all this week, but Thursday was the
only day for Special Needs.
On the way down there, it was another special needs bus driver, my self,
and our boss who was driving. Well it had been raining all night, and it was
still raining pretty good, and the morning traffic was still very heavy. I was
setting in the back seat of the van, when Barb in the passenger seat let out
this scream, I look to my left and there was a semi truck and trailer coming
right at us! We were in the fast lane heading West, and it was in the East
lane, but ended up loosing it somehow, and there it was mud flying high, and it
was bouncing left and right coming up out of the ditch. Mike, got the van over
one other lane, how I don't know without hitting another car. But the truck
ended up in the fast lane then on the shoulder. I spun around to see what was
gonna happen behind us, since there was so much traffic before this happen. Not
any cars was around the truck and it managed to get onto the shoulder of the
road. Thank God, noone was hurt including US. My gosh if we were just seconds
that truck would have plowed over us!.But we made it back home safe and more
educated. lol
Today, I'm not going too far, I have some things to in town, then I have my
niece to pick up and keep all day till her mom gets home. So I guess I better
get going here. So everyone have a great Friday, and weekend. Its suppose to
rain all weekend here again so that's what we're in for,, yay! I'll get some
recipes going here later on. Any requests??
