Kenny Chesney, Jamey Johnson, Steve Earle, Jerry Lee Lewis and One Flew South are scheduled to perform Saturday (Sept. 20) at the Farm Aid concert taking place at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass. Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews will also perform along with an extensive lineup that includes the Pretenders, Arlo Guthrie and Jakob Dylan & the Gold Mountain Rebels. This year's show will be featured as a Webcast at FarmAid.org. Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker Take Music to the Street at Nashville Pub Crawl Fri. September 19.2008 5:27 PM EDT Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan and Emily West all performed free concerts as part of the second annual Capitol Nashville pub crawl on Thursday night (Sept. 18) in Nashville. The event was open to the public. Adkins and Rucker performed on a stage set up on a closed-down Demonbreun Street, near Music Row. Academy of Country Music Endows Charitable Fund With $850,000 Fri. September 19.2008 5:27 PM EDT The Academy of Country Music (ACM) has endowed its charitable fund with $850,000. The endowment was made at an ACM board meeting this week and includes monies raised at events held in conjunction with the 43rd annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas in May, including an annual motorcycle ride, golf classic and a new artists' showcase. The gift is the first disbursement of a significant three-year funding commitment and fundraising campaign. The charitable fund was established in 2005 to promote music education programs and assist organizations that focus on healing through music. Craig Morgan to Become Grand Ole Opry Member Thu. September 18.2008 11:49 PM EDT Craig Morgan will become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry during ceremonies on Oct. 25 in Nashville. Opry member John Conlee surprised Morgan by extending the invitation Thursday night (Sept. 18) during a special concert for U.S. troops at Fort Bragg near Fayetteville, N.C. Conlee walked onstage during Morgan's performance of "Rose Colored Glasses," a Top 10 hit for Conlee in 1978. Morgan was stationed at Fort Bragg from 1990 to 1992 during his 10-year active duty tenure in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Morgan's own Top 10 hits include "Almost Home" and "Redneck Yacht Club." His recording of "That's What I Love About Sunday" spent four weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's country chart in 2004. His fifth album, That's Why, will be released Oct. 21 by Sony BMG.
