hi
we have been very busy the past few weeks!!!!
seems like if one project isn't going on, another one is or sometimes two or
more!!!
i was taking care of my great grandma, but she decided to go to visit her other
son. I had to help her get ready and my eldest son philip and her has bonded
in a unique way. she and philip used to have a hard time getting along.
actually, she didn't like philip, felt he was annoying her, felt he wouldn't
learn antying, but as he got older and she could ask him to take care of
flowers vacuum, etc, she started softening towards him. i think also, she sees
that even though he home schools, he isn't some sttrange alien, smiles.
anyway, she kept telling philip that she would miss him which is quite
something for my great grandma. she has a hard time at times saying what she
means, especially if it is sentimental. also, she was the same way with jojo,
which is very nice too. she used to not be able to deal with him saying no,
no, at everything because she felt he was saying no to her. if she was
walking by and he said no, she felt he was trying to tell her where she could
go. at that time, jojo was about a few months from turning two and his
favorite word of course was no no no no!!!! anyway, she kept talking about how
much he has learned to speak since!!!!
we took her to the airport monday of last week. it has been a week since she
is gone. seems a little strange withouth her being around. before she left, i
would sometimes cook with her since my mom had gone to vietnam and i had to
cook food for my dad. it was nice for the most part. my grandma does and can
be reasonably nice to be around when she doesn't have anyone she wants to
impress or someone who is trying to find something negative about someone else.
that was a blessing that i did get to spend time with her when my mom left for
a few weeks. we were able to just enjoy ourselves and just chat. i don't know
if she will return, but may god bless her and watch over her at all times!!!
anyway, fast fording here, smiles!!!!!!! On thursday of last week, we again
were at the airport and this time, it was to pick up my grandma and mom from
vietnam. my grandma is in her late 80's, but one would never notice!!!!! she
walks pretty fast, can get up and down, plays with the great grandkids, is able
to hold anna-lynn and walk around with her and she is about 20 or so pounds!!!!
Anyway, i have been taking care of her while my parents are at work!!!! she
really is a nice lady and easy to take care of, but i know she is pretty
lonely. she is quite an interesting lady to talk with!!!!
while we were walking one day, she asked me where was the chickens, cats, and
dogs!!!!! she is used to being able to look right outside her little house and
walk around ousdie and see cats chasing dogs, dogs chasing cats, cats chasing
chickens, pigs, etc, etc, etc. she is so used to being able to walk over to
her 2 sibblings houses and her other childrens' homes. i am sure she is so so
bored here. after all, all she can see now is just cars going back and forth.
she was amazed that pretty much every household has at least 2 cars. in
vietnam where she lives, cars and motorcycles and bikes all use the same area
and there is constant accidents because there is no street lights or real
driving regulations. also, no such thing as baby carseats. you just hold your
infat/child in the front or wherever on your lap. much fatality there from
accidents as you can see.
talking with my grandma, i have learned that in america, we truly turly have so
much freedom and riches and so much to thank god for!!!! we have the ability
to have as many children as we want verses in vietnam, she was telling me that
they are only allowed 2 children. the money value is so so diffirent here
verses there also!!!!
my hom's house has three floors. my grandma told me that probably 30 houses
could be made out of my mom's one house!!!!
my children have been having a grand time with their great grandma!!!! they
are able to goof off and just be themselves. they often aren't able to be like
that with my mom. she is mostly complaing about how they look, what they do,
what they don't do etc. my grandma is just having a grand time with them. she
loves tickling philip and making him laugh. she loves holding anna-lynn who
has finally decided to let grandma hold her, smiles. for a while, everythime
my grandma would try to reach out to hold anna-lynn, she would squeal and pull
away, but thanks to the playpen this mafternoon, she decided she didn't want to
be in there. grandma reached for her and htat little turkey gladly allowed
grandma to hold her then, smiles.
anyway, some of the funnies lately from my kiddos.
matthew told me that he didn't want me to eat too much. i asked him why. he
said if i eat too much, i will grow big and tall and will be in outer space,
wo!!!!
jojo is becoming quite the singer lately, smiles. he will sing and can do runs
with his voice up and down while his dad plays the keyboard. wonder if he will
be our musician? actually, all the kids have music in them, smiles.
Philip today saw that my grandma had several rings on her finger. he asked me
why she had 3 rings on her finger. i told him that she wantd to have rings so
probably she bought three different kinds. he siad, "Well did she marry three
husbands?" i told my grandma and she got such a tickle out of that!!!
philip has been such a hoot reading his lessons. i often right sentances on
wordpad for him since i dint' want him to use the aid of picutres to help him
guess at the words, smiles. one thing i wrote was
philip is a fat cat.
he looked at it and sid, "what? Hey, first of all, i am not fat, second, i am
not a cat!!!"
i wrote another one that siad
God loves yellow dinosaurs.
he told me that he h as never seen yellow dinosaurs, smiels.
he is doing pretty good with reading and we are working on counting by 2, 5,
10, ading and subtracting, multiplying. he is working on spelling also!!!
anna-lynn is just her happy litlle deciseve slf, smiles. she knows what she
wants and hse is a very grown up little gal!!! she can now crawl the stairs
and stand up and walk a tad bit, smiles. she loves being on the floor and
either playing with her brothers or just playing by herslef. she can amuse
herself for the most part, smiles. she is a very very very laid back an
dhappy contented young girl, smiles.
there is so much to share, but i won't kepe you all bored, smiles. sorry for
the long long oong novel!!!!
