Carrie Underwood Immortalized in Wax at Madame Tussauds Wed. October 22.2008 5:26 PM EDT
Carrie Underwood is now immortalized as a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York City. The American Idol winner visited Times Square to attend Wednesday's (Oct. 22) unveiling of the figure. Madame Tussauds introduced a figure of Miley Cyrus during a similar event in March. The New York museum also features wax figures of numerous celebrities, including Elvis Presley, Britney Spears and Beyoncé. On Tuesday (Oct. 21), Underwood released a two-CD edition of her latest album, Carnival Ride. In addition to the original album, released in October 2007, the updated version includes a second disc containing five holiday songs. The CD is available exclusively at Wal-Mart. October 22.2008 5:26 PM EDT Larry the Cable Guy will star in a new, 90-minute Christmas special that will air on CMT on Nov. 21, with a DVD release scheduled for Nov. 25. Guests on the variety program include Toby Keith, Terry Bradshaw, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Lewis Black and Blake Shelton, via pre-taped segments, with many other celebrities taking part in the comedian's sketches. Montgomery Gentry, Rodney Atkins and Emily West offer musical performances. Julianne Hough Treated and Released From Hospital Wed. October 22.2008 1:34 PM EDT Julianne Hough was treated and released from a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday night (Oct. 21) following her appearance on Dancing With the Stars. In a statement on Hough's official Web site, a spokesperson wrote, "She was experiencing slight stomach pains all day that increased, and the doctors thought it was best to have them checked out." The spokesperson also said Hough did not collapse, as had been mentioned in several reports on the Internet. Hough and dance partner Cody Linley performed an energetic jitterbug on Dancing With the Stars, but she was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center shortly after the show. Taylor Swift to Sing at Grammy Nominations Concert Special Wed. October 22.2008 1:34 PM EDT Taylor Swift will perform during a TV special announcing this year's Grammy nominees on Dec. 3 in Los Angeles. Other musicians appearing on the one-hour CBS special include Celine Dion, Foo Fighters, B.B. King and John Mayer. Additional performers will be announced. Tickets go on sale Monday (Oct. 27). This is the first time the Grammy nominations have been announced on primetime television. The event coincides with the grand opening of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The Grammy Awards will air Feb. 8.
