Liquid Soap
Make your own liquid soap by recycling those tiny soaps collected from hotels as well as your tiny soap slivers and remnants. You Will Need About 1 cup dry soap pieces (broken or cut into small pieces no bigger than 1 inch and be sure the soap pieces are completely dry.) 1 or 2 cups VERY hot water (more or less as needed) Scented oil and food coloring (optional) Pump bottle Blender or food processor Blend the soap pieces until they become a lumpy powder. In a non-aluminum pot, mix this soap powder and about 1 1/2 cups hot water. Bring to boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. (add coloring and scent at this time, if desired) If necessary, add more water while stirring. Continue to stir the soap as you remove it from the heat and while it cools. If the mixture thickens too much, add more water in tiny increments. The final mixture should be the consistency of a very liquid milkshake. Pour the cooled liquid soap into your pump bottle. I think this would make clever gifts especially with a new decorative pump botttle with the recipe for the soap tied to the neck....You can double or triple the recipe to make more at one time. This is also a great craft to invite a friend or two over and do together for a fun weekend afternoon or for you SAHM a fun schoolday while the kids are at school. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
