KRIS KRINGLES
--- Charlotte Observer cookies 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose/sifted 1/2 teaspoon salt 25 maraschino cherries, drained 6 oz semisweet chocolate bits 25 pecan halves Directiions: 1. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt 2. Stuff each cherry with a chocolate bit and wrap a level tablespoonful of dough around each cherry. Bake an inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet at 350 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes, or until set and golden - but not brown. Cool. 3. Melt the rest of the chocolate. Dip tops of cookies in melted chocolate and top each with pecan half. Let set until chocolate hardens. Makes 20 - 25 cookies. (I recommend doubling this recipe. Also, you Might want to try a different topping since the chocolate on top hides the chocolate in the cherry.) Charlotte Observer Sugar Says: People are like stained glass windows: They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, But when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light shining from within. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
