Kenny Chesney Chooses Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum for Tour

Kenny Chesney has chosen Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum to open shows for 
his upcoming Sun City Carnival tour this summer. Lambert will hold the middle 
slot, with Lady Antebellum opening the shows. Chesney has not yet revealed his 
full tour schedule. However, he has announced that his fan club will have an 
opportunity to buy seats that are unavailable to the general public, five to 10 
days in advance of the official on sale date.

Charlie Robison Completes New Album

Charlie Robison, the Texas singer-songwriter who was divorced from the Dixie 
Chicks' Emily Robison last year, will release a new album on DualTone Records 
in the coming months. No release date has been set although he says the 
self-produced album has been completed for about two years. Robison told the 
Colorado Springs Independent that he wrote many of the songs on the album 
during "the worst time of the divorce." However, Robison said, "My ex-wife and 
I have a wonderful relationship now. We spend more time together now than we 
ever did when we were married."

Dolly Parton Will Join Gospel Music Hall of Fame

Dolly Parton is among this year's inductees into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. 
The ceremony will take place in Nashville on Feb. 2. Parton has released 
several gospel albums and inspirational songs. Her Dollywood theme park in 
Pigeon Forge, Tenn., is also home to the Southern Gospel Music Museum and Hall 
of Fame. Other inductees include singer-songwriter Michael W. Smith, TV host 
Dr. Bobby Jones, the Dixie Hummingbirds and producer Lari Goss.

9 to 5: The Musical Will Open on Broadway April 7

9 to 5: The Musical, with songs by Dolly Parton, will debut April 7 at the 
Marriott Marquis Theatre on Broadway, according to a posting on Parton's Web 
site. The play is based on the 1980 movie in which Parton co-starred with Jane 
Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman. BroadwayWorld.com reports the three 
female leads in the musical will be played by Allison Janney, Stephanie J. 
Block and Megan Hilty and that Patricia Resnick wrote the play's book. Resnick 
also wrote the story for the movie.

Carrie Underwood Wins Three People's Choice Awards

Carrie Underwood won three People's Choice Awards on Wednesday (Jan. 7), 
including favorite female singer in all genres, favorite country song ("Last 
Name") and favorite star under 35. Underwood also performed on the show. Other 
winners included Rascal Flatts for favorite group among all genres. In 
addition, Dancing With the Stars was named favorite reality show, and Kid Rock 
won for favorite rock song ("All Summer Long"). View photos from the 35th

Rascal Flatts' Next Album Cover Will Be Designed by Fans

Rascal Flatts have announced their next album cover will be designed by fans. 
The group will accept submissions for Unstoppable (due April 7) through the 
People's Choice Awards' Web site until Jan. 22. Final choices will be revealed 
on Jan. 28 with fans deciding the winner. Rascal Flatts won a People's Choice 
Award on Wednesday night (Jan. 7) for favorite group. "It only makes sense to 
have our fans design and decide the cover of our new CD since they are the ones 
who make it possible every day for us to make new music and tour," says lead 
singer Gary LeVox. "We've got a creative and loyal group of fans and are very 
excited to see the designs they come back with."
