Trivia

The classic French Quiche actually originated in Germany, in the
medieval kingdom of Lothringen, which was under German rule. (Renamed
Lorraine when it came under French control - hence, Quiche Lorraine).
The word 'quiche' is derived from the German word for cake, 'kuchen.'
