If you have a lot of bananas, put some of them in the fridge wrapped in tin 
foil, making sure they're totally covered, and you'll find they'll stay yellow 
and firm. They'll keep for well over a week. 

Don't throw away bananas if they start to turn brown - just pop them in the 
freezer. Use frozen for smoothies, or defrost to make banana bread and cakes. 

To stop bananas in your fruit salad from going brown, sprinkle them with lemon 
juice before you add them to the bowl.
