That was very interesting. I have never had any problems with the casseroles and pie plates I have now but in 1995 I had a couple staying with us and when she cooked with it in the oven and then took it out and sat it on the stove it shattered. But she did not have it sitting on a cookie sheet as I always do. Also, it was old, we had gotten it as a wedding present so I know it was a real Corning casserole. But I put these in the oven and microwave all the time. Of course my big casserole is too big for my microwave. Lora
