IRON SKILLET PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

1 stick salted butter
1/2  c. brown sugar
1 can sliced pineapple
maraschino cherries
1 box yellow  cake mix

Mix cake batter according to box directions, set aside.  Melt
butter in a cast iron skillet then sprinkle on brown sugar.
Layer  pineapple over the brown sugar. Add cherries, if
desired. Pour cake batter  over pineapple rings. Bake at 375
degrees until golden brown. Remove from  oven and, using a fork,
poke several holes in the cake. Allow cake to cool  slightly.
Pour 1/4 c. pineapple juice over cake and let it soak into
cake.  Once cake has cooled, flip over onto a cake plate  and
serve.
