I also think it is a wonderful idea to get a Country directory together. But for now can I ask Susanne (or anyone else) if she knows who the traditional custodians of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park are and how I can get in contact with them. I am in Wurundjerri Country (Melbourne) now but used to live in Sydney. I took some elders from the Western Desert to look at rock carvings in Ku-ring-gai some years ago and they began 'reading' the meanings of the carvings out of the ground for me. I have made various unsuccessful attempts to find out if there are any people who still maintain custodianship of this site. Because I felt that if the stories/meanings of these sites have been lost in the process of colonisation there might be some surviving ancestors who would value knowing what my friends 'read' there. If the stories are surviving knowledge then I would be interested, (if it is considered culturally appropriate to share them) to know how they compare. ------------------------------------------------------ RecOzNet2 has a page @ http://www.green.net.au/recoznet2 and is archived at http://www.mail-archive.com/ To unsubscribe from this list, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED], and in the body of the message, include the words: unsubscribe announce or click here mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Body=unsubscribe%20announce This posting is provided to the individual members of this group without permission from the copyright owner for purposes of criticism, comment, scholarship and research under the "fair use" provisions of the Federal copyright laws and it may not be distributed further without permission of the copyright owner, except for "fair use."
