It appears this morning that 20 police and half a dozen fireman were 
sent in during last night to remove one aboriginal protester from the 
tent embassy and his ceremonial protest fire from the lawns of 
Parliament House in Canberra. 211 sticks (to symbolise the 211 years 
of occupation) stuck in the ground were also removed. The offence 
apparently was that the fire was unlawful and there was a bushfire 
danger.

Some of you might see this as overkill. I see this as a waste of 
money. I have seen first hand that ACT Police don't act when a crime 
*IS* committed and proven, because of the lack of resources, and now 
they have mobilised 20 police to remove one man and some sticks!

And I sit here and wonder why I am annoyed......
