Comrades, It appears this morning that 20 police and half a dozen fireman were sent in during last night to remove one aboriginal protester from the tent embassy and his ceremonial protest fire from the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra. 211 sticks (to symbolise the 211 years of occupation) stuck in the ground were also removed. The offence apparently was that the fire was unlawful and there was a bushfire danger. Some of you might see this as overkill. I see this as a waste of money. I have seen first hand that ACT Police don't act when a crime *IS* committed and proven, because of the lack of resources, and now they have mobilised 20 police to remove one man and some sticks! And I sit here and wonder why I am annoyed...... Paul Soapboxer
