Ian,
Why do you think they have been very careful not to mention 'the human rights thing'
in China
and Indonesia? I think the Howard Govt has been paving that road for some time now.
China and
Indonesia wouldn't be impolite enough to bring up 'the human rights thing' with Downer
after he
treated them so politely.
There are countries, however, who won't be so polite.
