Newman treated badly over Winmar blackface: Kennett

Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett says television personality Sam Newman
has been unfairly vilified over the
Nicky Winmar incident.
Mr Kennett's told Melbourne Radio 3AW that Newman is a victim of
political correctness.
Last week AFL footballer Winmar was the butt of jokes on Channel Nine's
The Footy Show after he failed to
appear on the show.
Newman painted his face black in a bid to mimic the star player.
But the skit drew widespread criticism, resulting in a successful
mediation hearing between the parties
involved.
