I don't know if anyone heard of that report which suggests putting up the
price of public transport by 30%.  I believe that was a government report
(correct me if I'm wrong)?  Anyway, if it is, it certainly lends weight to
Bob Brown's claim that there's no commitment to the environment.  The
"affluent few" who use public transport (like all those uni students, school
students, and anyone working out of necessity in low paying city or north
shore jobs who can't afford to pay the parking fees for their Mazda 808, or
those who can't afford cars (and can hardly afford public transport
already)... those affluent few).  Obviously, increasing the cost will fix
everything.  We'll just ignore the fact that this will discourage people
from catching public transport, increasing pollution, decreasing State Rail
revenue, impeding services... all of which will send the price back up.
