how about approaching the individuals who benefit most each year to contribute
10% each until 3.1bill is raised - the amount quoted as the gap in housing for
indigenous peoples - that means that many indigenous peoples are without the
security of a home, not to mention their OWN home - shouldn't be many of them
needed considering the incomes of some - packer comes immediately to mind with
his 'legitimate' 800mill tax avoidance in 98 (i think)
this one individual alone avoided contributing in one year to the public
wallet, 25% of the estimated gap in indigenous housing, so the top 4 income
receivers should be able to raise it between them
but maybe a few more could contribute as would like to see the costing of
permanent housing ie off the rent/evict circuit - ie noone can challenge
occupation - peace of mind about shelter at least
(hope i am not so tired that i have made an arithmetic error here, 4 seems so
few really to solve such a devastating issue that affects 100's of thousands of
people in oz)
cheers
susanne
