Again, I am sure that many of us sympathise with those opposed to
multinational ownership of genetic materials and other similar issues, and
I , for one, always appreciate Bernard's interest in the recoznet list,
particularly when he provides information about relevant international
issues, but "broadcast sowing" of stuff like this simply alienates people.
I, for one, am drowning under a deluge of mailing list postings many of
which arrive on my desk top more than once, about issues that are of very
questionable relevance to the groups to which they are posted.

I would be more than happy to receive postings about , for example, the
implications of genetic patenting by multinationals of indigenous foods or
medicines. But this does not mean that I expect postings about the
relationship between Monsanto and the Tasmanian government or any other GE
matter when they don't relate to matters of reasonably direct connection
with the recoznet list.

OK, we have always been fairly flexible about this sort of stuff, but I'm
afraid that the wonderful world of electronic communication all too easily
results in overload. I'm reaching saturation point. Please, Bernard and
others, only send postings to this list which have some reasonably direct
connection to indigenous issues. Your material on international human
rigfhts is great, but this one goes beyond the reasonable.

Cheers

Rod
