GREETINGS TO ALL RECOZNET-PEOPLE!! My name is Hanne Miriam Larsen, I'm a 32-year old danish anthropologist, and I've been doing fieldwork among indigenous australians twice, 7 months in 1993 and 8 months in 1995 -During both of my learning-journeys in Australia, I lived+worked most f the time with theaboriginal and islander community in Townsville, and my work was focused on the media practices of the local indigenous people. Here in Denmark I work in multicultural production-team at a regional community Tv-station, and I teach media anthropology as well as courses on Australian/ indigenous australian studies at the anthropology departments at the Unis in Copenhagen and Aarhus. I've been lurking on the recoznet-list for a couple of years, it's a good way to stay tuned on what's going on in Australia while my feet are planted here on the other side of the planet -and although I've been silent myself so far, I really appreciate my "connection" to this list + greatly admire the efforts of the listkeepers and those of you who share their thoughts in depth with all of us.. However, there's an immediate reason why I wanna send some words to the list today.. As part of my job at Copenhagen Uni, I'm supervising an anthropology student who is planning+preparing to do fieldresearch in Australia in approx. 5 months from february 2000. The working title for his project is "the multicultural workplace ?!", and he is looking for an organisation/ company which has got a number of employees of "non-majority ethnic origin" (or whatever the correct term is) and has an explicit employment-policy which aims for a "multiethnic workforce". If any of you people have got any connections or suggestions that could bring this student forward in his "quest", I'd sure be glad to hear from you...
