Thanks for that, Peter - an excellent post. So come on Karen, here's an opportunity. If you are going to have anything to say to Peter's post take your time, quote relevant sections, and respond to the points he has made - point by point. Don't get side-tracked, and don't try to ignore the things he has said. If you disagree, first make sure you know what the point he was making, and then tell us WHY you disagree. Try and not accuse of him of accusing you of anything. Draw on your own experience as Peter has, but do it in a relevant way; don't just make generalised statements about how tough it is to be a cop and don't just say that maybe there are a couple of 'bad apples' in any organisation - statements like that are not arguments, they're just slogans. Actually, you don't have to listen to anything that I've said and can respond however you like; but if you can take a hint, this is the sort of approach that might make people think you are something other than a disruptive stooge. If you want to tell me to mind my own business and flame me (burn baby burn), then do it off list - don't waste other people's time. The above is meant as friendly advice, that's all.
