Let's hope they fail miserably! We can't afford to lose Bob Brown while
another pro-GST Democrat won't be a loss to anyone.

Democrats to target Brown's
seat

The Democrats will target the Tasmanian seat of
Greens' Senator Bob Brown at the next federal
election.

Senator Brown won the seat from the Democrats'
Robert Bell in 1996.

Democrats' leader Meg Lees says the party will
stand candidates at the next federal poll to try to
regain the seat.

"We consider this seat to be our seat," she said.

"It was taken from us by the Greens and we will be
working very hard at the coming election to get our
seat back.

"Tasmania is the only state without Democrat
representation, and we plan to do something
about that."
